Scrap Steel Shredder Machine For Scrap Metal Recycling
A scrap steel shredder is a type of shredder specifically designed for processing scrap steel. It uses mechanical force to break scrap steel of various shapes, sizes, and materials, such as scrap steel, scrapped automobile bodies, and metal structural parts, into smaller, uniform pieces or flakes. This shredder facilitates subsequent scrap recovery, transportation, melting, and reprocessing. It is a key piece of equipment in the scrap steel recycling process.
Working Principle
• Power Transmission: An electric motor provides power, which is transmitted to the shredder's main shaft through transmission devices such as pulleys and speed reducers, causing the main shaft to rotate in a specific direction and at a specific speed. Dual or quad motors are typically used to ensure sufficient power to shred the scrap steel.
• Material Entry: Scrap steel is uniformly fed into the shredder's shredding chamber through a feed system (such as a hopper or conveyor).
• Shredding Process: Within the shredding chamber, sharp cutting tools (such as blades or claws) are mounted on the main shaft. These tools, depending on their design, exert force on the scrap steel through shearing, squeezing, or tearing. For some scrap with higher hardness and toughness, the machine uses the powerful shearing force of its blades to cut it. For larger, more complex scrap, it uses squeezing and tearing to break it down. Some scrap shredders utilize a multi-axis design (such as a dual-axis or quad-axis design), where the blades on each axis work together to enhance the crushing effect.
• Discharge: The shredded scrap is discharged through the shredder's discharge port. The discharge size can be controlled by adjusting parameters such as blade spacing and spindle speed to meet different subsequent processing requirements.
Applicable Materials
1. Metals: Scrap steel, aluminum alloy, copper, stainless steel, and other metal products, such as used car hulls, metal shelves, and metal pipes. Shredders facilitate metal recovery and remelting.
2. Plastics: Various plastic products, such as plastic film, plastic pipes, plastic containers, and plastic pallets. Shredded plastics can be further processed into recycled plastic pellets for use in the manufacture of new plastic products.
3. Rubber: Rubber products such as used tires, rubber hoses, and rubber mats. Shredded rubber can be used to produce recycled rubber, rubber floor tiles, and other products.
4. Wood: Scrap wood, wooden pallets, wooden furniture, and tree branches. After processing in a shredder, wood can be used in industries such as biomass power generation, wood-based panels, and papermaking.
5. Paper: Waste paper, cardboard, and cartons. Shredded paper facilitates subsequent recycling in papermaking.
6. Fiber: Fiber products such as used clothing, carpets, and non-woven fabrics. These waste materials can be shredded and reprocessed into fiber products or other products.
Advantages
1. High Crushing Efficiency
◦ It can quickly break large, bulky scrap into smaller pieces, significantly reducing scrap processing time and improving the overall efficiency of scrap recycling. For example, large scrap steel structures can be crushed in a shorter time.
◦ Dual or multi-motor drives provide powerful power, ensuring efficient crushing even when handling high-hardness and high-toughness scrap.
2. Excellent Crushing Effect
◦ It can crush scrap steel into uniform blocks or flakes, facilitating subsequent processing steps such as magnetic separation, baling, and smelting. The uniform output size helps improve scrap recycling and smelting efficiency.
◦ It can effectively crush various types and shapes of scrap steel, such as used automobile bodies, scrap steel, and metal pipes, making it widely applicable.
3. Strong Processing Capacity
◦ Designed to accommodate large-scale scrap processing needs, it features a large feed opening and powerful crushing capacity, capable of handling large volumes of scrap steel. It is suitable for high-volume applications such as scrap recycling companies and steel mills.
◦ Scrap shredders of various models and specifications can be selected to meet different processing capacity requirements based on different production needs.
4. Good Stability
◦ The equipment's rational structural design, the use of high-quality steel, and advanced manufacturing processes ensure its overall strength and stability. It can withstand significant impact and loads during long-term operation, reducing the probability of equipment failure and damage.
Key components (such as the spindle, cutting tools, and bearings) have been specially designed and treated for high wear resistance and reliability, extending the equipment's service life.
